(Solberg, 2006) Mini-Small  6" high x 16" wide.  Very cute mound of blue, heart-shaped leaves that form a showy, flat clump with a tight growing habit. Great substance and lavender flowers on short scapes in July.  Fast growth rate.

'Baby Doll'

 

(Van Eechaute 08)  Small.   This is a beautiful little sport of 'Blue Cadet' from Danny Van Eechaute in Belgium. Round blue-green leaves with a dark yellow centre.   Great substance.  Tubular lavender flowers mid-summer. Looks a like a little 'June'. 

Very eye catching!

'Banana Boat'

(Eleanor and William Lachman 91)  This small to medium sized hosta from the Lachman's is still quite rare.  It grows slowly and was originally sold thru Handy Hatfield.  Its ancestry is listed as a hosta taken from Lachmans's 'Carnival' and 'Galaxy' series X 'Reversed'.  Dark green leaves are rounded and elongated displaying a wide yellow centre.   They are cupped like a boat and have a leathery substance.  Violet flowers.

'Barbara Ann' 

(Park Green Nurseries)  Large.   A sport of H. sieboldiana 'Elegans' discovered in Great Britain by two lab technicians named Barbara and Ann.   Forms a stunning clump of thick, corrugated blue-green leaves with a broad, cream margin that lightens to white.   Near white flowers appear on 24" scapes in midsummer.

'Barbara May'

(Solberg 04) Medium.  This beautiful hosta has everything you want; great bright blue colour with abundant white wax on the top and bottom of the leaves, interesting, almost triangular leaves with delicately ruffled margins, strong veins and good substance.   This hosta holds its' blue colour well.  Light lavender flowers.

(Sisson)  Kathie Sisson is an emerging hybridizer and we are bringing several of her plants to market this year. H. Bashful is an open pollinated seedling from H. Blue Cadet with leaves that come up in spring a very creamy color mottled with green. The green will slowly become more prominent but newer flushes of leaves will be lighter and misted. This small clump will be topped with white flowers in June.

'Bix Blues'

(Ron Simmering 2000)   Medium-Large.  22" high x 54" wide.  This hybrid of Hosta 'Halcyon' x Hosta 'Elegans' forms a medium large mound of incredibly blue-green foliage.  Leaves are thick, slightly cupped.  Near white flowers.

(Savory 1983)  Large.  24" high x 36" wide.  Deep green leaves rounded and cupped.  Heavily-textured foliage of black-green makes this one a real stand-out.  Lavender flowers.

'Blue Angel'

(Aden 86) Extra-Large.   Gigantic, heart shaped, blue-green leaves are heavy substance which makes them very slug resistant.  Leaf petioles stand upright holding the leaves horizontally, then they cascade down forming a beautiful mound of foliage.   Light lavender flowers on 4' scapes.

'Blue Baron'

(Deckert)  Small.   Thick, steel blue leaves are lance shaped with a rounded base that forms a flat, spreading mound.   Slug resistant.   Slow growth rate making this one ideal for rockeries or containers. Striking blue remains throughout the season.

Carlson 09)  Medium.   This is one outstanding hosta! Beautiful blue, very dense mound of extremely pie-crusted leaves.  Leaf tips twist outward creating the illusion of constant motion.  Lavender flowers.   With these origins of this hosta - longpipes var. latifolia 'Urajiro' x 'Elvis Lives', it has to be a stunning hosta!    Limited numbers.

'Blue Clown'

(Benedict/Stratton)  This small hosta is a superb blue hybrid created by Dr. Benedict from a selfed 'Dorset Blue' seedling.   Thick leaves are an intense blue-green and form a dense mound topped with pale lavender flowers in July.

'Blueberry Muffin'

 

(Meyer) Medium.   This excellent new blue hosta is a strong grower and reliable performer.   It forms a medium-sized mound of large, blue rounded leaves that are rugose and puckered in unusual patterns.   Late in the season, the foliage transitions to green.  Attractive light mauve speckles appear on the petioles.   Lavender flowers.

'Bobbie Sue'

(Owens, '94) Medium.  16" high x 46" wide.    Dark green with a wide pure white margin, slightly rippled and provides excellent contrast. Leaf is very glossy on both sides, heavy substance and is broadly ovate. Pale lavender, tubular flowers have striping on the inside. The seed is viable and the plant blooms in midsummer.

'Boyz Toyz'

(Sheer)  Mini.  Alttara Scheer (of FOoSF fame) brings us this sassy plant which emerges bright chartreuse with pointy little red leaf tips.   As the red fades on the tips, the slightly glossy leaves turn bright yellow and in July it sends up brassy scapes in perfect proportion to the clump with ultraviolet flowers in abundance.  Leaves have good substance and the compact clump has a vigorous growth rate.  Will tolerate sun and colours up best with a few hours of direct sun.

'Brass Ring'


 

(Lydell 00)  Medium.  Now here's a hosta that you can plant in the spring and it will still look fabulous late in the season.  This attractive hosta displays broad, rounded, corrugated leaves of good substance. Yellow margins jet towards the green centre of each beautifully variegated leaf.  Light lavender flowers stand just above the foliage midsummer.

(D. Beilstein 2007)  Very Large upright clump measuring 36" high  X 65" wide.  Huge, dark green leaves which are a little unruly. Purple flowers in early summer on tall scapes. Makes an impressive specimen if raised above ground level. 'Brutus' is a beast!

Small.  10” high x 25” wide.  It forms a low, dense mound of blue-green foliage of outstanding substance and color intensity. It is a selected seedling out of a cross of a gold sport of ‘Blue Dimples’ X ‘Shining Tot’.  Leaves are 4 ½” long by 2 ½” wide; pale purple flowers  on 10-20” scapes in August.
