(Hansen/Shady Oaks 96) Dwarf-sized,   This cute dwarf hosta has lavender flowers.  The leaves have dark green margins with white centres. There is a lighter green area in the leaf where the white and green meet.

‘Paradigm’

(Walden West, 99) Medium-sized, 20” high x 36” wide, this hosta sports glossy bright gold foliage, surrounded by a wide, dark blue-green border. ‘Paradigm’ is a fast grower that has 2' tall scapes in June of light lavender flowersVery showy hosta!!!

(Fransen) Medium-sized sport of H. 'Fire Island'.  Dark green, jetting margin around the edge of the brilliant yellow leaves.  Leaves are held on red petioles, and the red colouring extends up into the base of the leaves.   Lavender flowers.

(Walters Gardens, Inc., 1997) Large-sized. 32” high x 48” wide.   Sport of H. 'Sum and Substance', with good vigour and great form. Glossy gold-chartreuse leaves are huge and surrounded by a nice creamy-white border of narrow to medium width. Lavender flowers.

‘Path Finder’

(Briggs Nursery, 99) Medium-sized.  This 'Francee' sport has very thick leaves.  Creamy-white centres are speckled green with a wide slightly rippled dark green margin.  The leaves are somewhat shiny, lightly corrugated and quite round but come to a point. The pale purple flowers are held on white scapes with purple spots.  Medium growth rate that shows excellent vigor for a white centred hosta.

‘Patriot’

(Machen, 91) Medium-sized, 15” high x 36” wide.  This is a popular tetraploid sport of H. 'Francee', with a much wider pure white margin. This is one of the most distinctive hostas. Medium-lavender flowers in early summer.

‘Paul's Glory’

(Ruh/Hofer 87) Large-sized, 25” high x 48” wide.  Brilliant gold leaves with a wide blue edge. The dark golden leaves brighten to a white gold as the season progresses.  Spectacular clump is topped with light lavender flowers on 24" tall scapes in late spring. This is one of those rare hostas that stands out in any garden... AWESOME. Hosta of the year 99!

'Peace'



(Aden 1987)    5" high x 9" wide.  Dusty blue heart shaped leaves have bicolour variegation.  Begins creamy-yellow on the outside then changes to a chartreuse border with a streak of white between the chartreuse and the blue.   Lavender flowers in mid summer.  Thick substance.     $15.00

'Peach Salsa'

(Solberg 2013) (H. clausa normalis F2 seedling X 'Strawberry Banana Smoothie') Medium, (12" X 20") This bright yellow hosta has puckered leaves that are almost translucent, it glows! It is also a showoff with its bright red, not purple, petioles and scapes. Don't cut the flowers off this one. A sibling of my 'Smiley Face' and 'Mango Salsa', this one is a dappled shade plant that will brighten up any garden path.  $30.00

 

 

‘Peacock Strut’

(Lefever/Solberg 05)  Medium-sized.  The blue-gray foliage proudly sits high above upright, rich purple petioles like peacock feathers. This medium to large clump is perfect for a large container or that special spot in the garden. Lavender flowers on purple scapes.   ‘Riptide’ seedling.

(Jim Schwarz 2002) Mini.   Striking small mound of white-centered foliage with a sharp contrast between the leaf center and margin. Dark green margin that sometimes streaks into the creamy yellow to white center; heavily corrugated; ovate.

‘Peppermint Ice’

(Belle Gardens, 94) Small-sized, 10" high x 48” wide, H. 'Peppermint Ice' has nearly round black-green foliage, surrounded by a 1" wide central band of gold.  As the leaf matures, the gold central pattern changes to cream, then pure white, for a striking pattern that lasts the rest of the season.  2' tall scapes of lavender flowers.
This is truly an incredible new hosta!!

(Zilis, 99) Medium-sized, 15" high x 48” wide, this hosta has long wavy leaves that emerge pure limey green, then the centre quickly brightens to a brilliant white-gold, while the edge becomes a narrow dark-green border. ‘Prairie Moon’



(Shady Oaks Nursery, 2007) Medium-sized.   H. 'Prairie Moon' emerges in the spring with bright yellow leaves backed by a lovely silver reverse. The thick, wedge-shaped leaves have good slug resistance and are topped by 2-inch lavender bell-shaped flowers in August.

(Hans Hansen) Medium  14" high x 36" wide.  This clump of powdery-blue, lightly cupped thick substance leaves form a tight clump.  It keeps its showy colour all season.  Pale lavender flowers mid to late summer.

‘Praying Hands’

(Williams, 96) Medium-sized, 14” high x 18” wide, H. 'Praying Hands' is one of the most unique hostas. It has a narrow cream border surrounding strangely folded dark green crinkled leaves.  The clump does resemble hands folded in prayer.  The upright clumps are topped with 18" spikes of lavender.
Definitely a unique hosta for the collector!!!

‘Prestige and Promise’


 


(Walters Gardens)  Medium-sized. 14” high x 20” wide.   This is a tetraploid form of H. ‘Cadillac’.  Thick golden leaves are bordered with a wide dark green margin.  Great substance and near-white flowers.

‘Proud Sentry’

 

(Dean 08) Medium-sized.   Arching green leaves with a rippled yellow margin, vigorous growing fountain shaped clump.  The heavy substance of each leaf is held up and out to reveal the red petioles. Pale lavender flowers.   Definitely a standout in the front of the border.

(Walters Gardens)   Small-sized.  This charming new addition to the Mouse Ear family is the reverse variegation of H. ‘Mighty Mouse’.  It has thick rounded blue-green leaves with a yellow to creamy white centre.  Lavender flowers.

‘Purple Boots’

(Van Eechaute, 04) Medium-sized.  Reddish-purple petioles with medium green leaves on a cross between H. ‘Gig Harbor’ and H. ‘Riptide’. Eye-catching dark purple flower scapes and buds also. Fertile.   Grows well for us.

‘Purple Haze’

(Janssen, 04) Medium-sized.  This is a very unique hosta with blue leaves held on purple petioles.  The purple color continues into the veins of the leaf creating a “purple haze” on the centre portion of the leaf surface. This color is very evident in spring and does fade as the season progresses. Good substance on nicely textured leaves that are topped with lavender flowers in midsummer.
