'Tattoo'

(Tony Avent 1998)  Small.  10" tall x 18" wide.  Sport of H. 'Little Aurora'. Small rounded bright gold leaves with a wide light green border. Each leaf is "tattooed" with the outline of a dark green maple leaf in the centre.  Light lavender flowers.
A very unique and spectacular little jewel. Excellent substance.  We have found this one a little finicky to grow and had to work at finding the right location to grow this plant but the results are well worth the effort as you can see.

The 'tattoo' gets more pronounced each year.   This one is 3 years old growing in morning sun in a protected area.
